Project Overview


The BIGFACE x Square limited pop-up was an immersive brand activation hosted in San Francisco, blending coffee culture, community, and technology. Centered around Jimmy Butler’s coffee brand, BIGFACE, the temporary space was designed to capture the brand’s playful identity while showcasing Square’s role in powering modern retail experiences.

Objective


The objective of the pop-up was to bring BIGFACE to life beyond the product by creating a branded environment that felt energetic and memorable. The collaboration with Square emphasized innovation in commerce, while BIGFACE’s bold colors and storytelling added vibrancy and cultural resonance. The aim was to deliver an experience that celebrated community, highlighted the partnership, and introduced audiences to BIGFACE.

Scope of Work


  • Pop-Up Spatial Design: Developed layouts, zones, and environmental details for café service, merchandise display, and social interaction.

  • 3D Visualization & Concept Renders: Created visuals that guided the look, flow, and feel of the pop-up space.

  • Brand Integration: Translated BIGFACE’s identity into signage, product displays, and experiential details while aligning with Square’s branding.

  • Event Narrative: Designed the space to function as both a working café and a cultural activation, encouraging photo moments, connection, and brand immersion.

Outcome


The pop-up successfully transformed a corner market into a cultural stage for BIGFACE, powered by Square. Bold red and white branding established a striking visual identity, while modular product shelving and service zones kept the space functional and efficient. More than a retail environment, the project demonstrated how design can translate a brand into an experience, leaving a lasting impression on guests and positioning BIGFACE as part of culture.
